Hi, I just wanted to share with everyone a different type of educational service I will be operating in 2011.
My family
day care scheme is supporting my program in a hope that other educators who have early childhood qualifications may look to do the same. I am a trained early childhood teacher, who is currently a scheme co-ordinator. I believe in the government's initiative that every child have access to a quality early childhood program in the year before school that is delivered by an early childhood teacher. I also believe that not all children who apply are successful in getting into a pre-prep or kindy program as there just aren't enough places yet. I also believe that not all parents are happy with child care centres for whatever reason. I also believe that family day care is a nurturing, professional alternative with a 4:1 ratio. Who can beat that?
So in 2011
I will be running a pre-prep (kindy) program in a family day care setting. At this stage it is a 3 day program which will give the children 18 hours, run 9am to 3pm during school terms with some flexibility for a working parent. Underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework and following the (Qld) Kindergarten Learning Guideline.
I have
asked my local C&Ks to include my brochure in their 'sorry you missed out on a place' letters. I have 3 places available if anyone knows of someone that this would suit. Elimbah is next to Caboolture in outer north Brisbane.
I hope
this helps people to realise it doesn't have to be an us and them mentality in early childhood education. There are ways we can all work together to give children the best start to school.
Kindy
meets Family Day Care!
