CCMS applications any advice?

Hey all,

Has anyone got any recommendations or advice on CCMS Software or has anyone had any experience or feedback with hubworks?

I have started using QikKids when I have transitioned mid March 09.
I have a technical background (software design-testing Computer/IT engineer) and I have looked at the most common accredited software especially the online ones such as Hubworks.

Unfortunately, none of the Childcare Softwares would have survived in the real world of Software Design-Implementation arena. QK which is the most widely used one but relies on another software to work! In other words, if you do not buy and install Microsoft Excel, QK will not work... It does not rely on its own resources. I took the cautious way and used QK initially, but I have switched to Hubworks recently.

Very simple and easy to use and you can use it anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. It is like using hotmail! all the software is run somewhere in the world (does not matter where it is) will be updated by the company, they are constantly in touch with the CCMS system. Meaning that your information will be automatically updated frequently. All your parents can access their data (check their attendances and all other information)

I had some difficulties with QK when I used it from my home PC. I had to call help desk wait for half an hour and database mismatch has to be reset by the help desk etc. I wasted a 500 sheet pack to be able to print sign in sheets as I wanted, was not able to do it... So I gave up, and used my own excel design, which beats the purpose of using a software by the way! Software supposed to make your life easy! Not drive you Crazy...

What you have to decide is, do you want to use Local or Global Software delivery system?
At the moment, the trend is towards the application softwares running somewhere in the world and you (clients) are simply using it. Same with Hubworks... New generation of Childcare Software and designed for CCMS... by the younger generation. My year ten daughter does not have any difficulty using it!

I am not affiliated with Hubworks or trying to promote it. All I want is an easy to use software and have a piece of mind... Does not matter what online software you use it is going to be the norm in few years time, I think.
